Watch Michiganâs Jim Harbaugh get surprise hug from brother John in middle of CFP title game
Jim Harbaugh was busy Monday night, watching his No. 1 Michigan Wolverines build a 17-3, first-half lead over No. 2 Washington in the College Football Playoff national championship.
In the midst of the chaos that is the CFP title game, Harbaugh’s brother John found his way to the sidelines to hug Jim Harbaugh. John Harbaugh, the head coach of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, was delayed getting to the game due to the weather conditions in and around Houston, per news reports.
While Jim is coaching for a national title, John has the Ravens atop the AFC North as he turns attention to the NFL postseason.
Jim Harbaugh, who previously coached the San Francisco 49ers, lost to John Harbaugh’s Ravens in the 2013 Super Bowl.
“Everybody in a family has a different personality. They care about the same things,” Joani Crean, John and Jim’s sister, told The Associated Press. “Maybe they go about things differently, but I think that’s more of a perception than reality. They’re caring human beings.”
She continued, “I know people don’t want to hear that, but that’s the truth. You can’t fake things in a locker room, or a building, in sports and there’s nothing fake about them and that’s part of why they’re successful.”
Prior to the start of the game, Jim Harbaugh sported a pair of receiving gloves and was warming up with quarterback JJ McCarthy on the field.
